Los Angeles four-piece Warpaint combine high production values that nevertheless seem lo-fi, a fresh and youthful spirit for experimentation and a perfect knack for creating catchy melodies that function just as well as summer ballads as they do odes to wintertime longing. Wild Beasts flirt with genres themselves, but if we had to describe the output from these UK boys, we'd probably settle on "the kind of electronic pop you wish more people made." Danish producer Asbjørn (Official) combines organic instruments such as full string ensembles with poppy electronica packed with heart, and with her captivating stage performance British/Russian singer Shura is the perfect addition to his delicate compositions—evocative of the hazy, broken innocence of early nineties divas. Turn the lights down low . . . this EB Festival is for lovers.
