Die Idee für das Approximation Festival entstand aus der Motivation heraus, Musiker und Komponisten in einem Projekt zu vereinen, das Grenzgänge auf dem Klavier wagt. Das Festival möchte versuchen, sich diesem so vielseitigen Instrument auf eine neue, innovative Weise und auf der Basis verschiedenster Kontexte oder Stile anzunähern (approximate).
